On behalf of our client, we have an exciting and immediate and permanent opportunity for a Welding Team Leader. Key responsibilities/duties:

 

  • This is a working Team Leader role, adding value to the department output which will involve a large proportion of the time being a welder/fabricator.
  • Organise, control, and direct the activities of production operatives on that shift.
  • Organise and control the work within the section in accordance with the production plan and priorities as defined by the Senior Supervisor.
  • Ensure that work is completed within the allocated time and the planned customer requirement date.
  • Control and manage Indirect Hours.
  • Ensure that all material is used effectively, safely and is stored correctly within your team’s department.
  • Ensure that the job has target hours set and controlled to budget across your team.
  • Ensure that all plant, equipment, and tools within the department are maintained, working in conjunction with the Maintenance department and Senior Supervisor
  • Ensure job packs are completed in a timely manner and are signed off at each stage of handover.
  • Report to and getting direction from the Senior Supervisor.
  • Stand in when necessary to cover the Senior Supervisor when he is not available.

 

 

Experience required:

  • A strong background in welding/fabrication 
  • Great attention to detail
  • Ability to work accurately from drawings
  • Understanding of Labour Variance and Unproductive Reports
  • Understanding of Health and safety
  • Excellent communication and people management skills
  • Ability to motivate and drive forward improvements.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities
